The Club runs a series of activities specifically for members with pre-school or school-age twins or triplets.
In April we participated in the farms family day at Vauxhall City Farm, Vauxhall Park where our children could bottle feed the lambs, plant sunflowers and make easter crafts as well as enjoy seeing the animals on the farm and the wonderful vegetable garden there.
Another recent activity was a visit to the Cuming Museum in February. The museum is a wonderful and eclectic small museum with plenty of hands on activities to please and excite children. We explored the museum for an hour and then used the Education space for an hour of craft activities. The afternoon is aimed at 3.5 to 10 year olds.
We ran on 25 October a spooky fun-filled afternoon aimed at our members with older twins (older/younger siblings also welcome) aged 4 upwards at the Albrighton Community Centre, Albrighton Rd, SE22 (opposite Sainsburys on Dog Kennel Hill).
We started with one of Jo’s fantastic scary craft activities, making a bouncing incy wincy spider, and then settled into the highlight of a professional visiting storyteller full of halloween tales. The day was completed with lots of games, including rolling round pumpkins around with a witch’s broom, the children using straws to put together a gruesome witch’s meal in a cauldron and a ghoulish-inspired sweet shop (with sweets priced 1p each!).
Our Summer holiday twins club activity was at the London Wildlife Centre (Marsden Road, SE15) on Wednesday 31 August. The team at the Centre alongside Jo Conrad and I provided our members with a fun packed afternoon of pond-dipping, mini-beast hunting with magnifying glasses, bug identification, an examination of the Centre’s composter and another of Jo’s craft activities making beautiful butterfly masks.
